Guard Your Grill Boxing was founded in the Overbrook section of West Philadelphia by Coltrane and Sleep who were next door neighbors. Coltrane and Sleep would have fight parties in their homes. After boxing matches concluded their guests would convene on the front steps for heated discussions that would last for hours. Of those classic fight parties five people would always remain.
The five members joined weekly through their unyielding passion of the sport to discuss, comment and predict fights on the now legendary Youtube broadcast Guard Your Grill Boxing. On November 7, 2007, GYGB aggressively aired shows in staggering numbers posting over 60 shows in under 6 months accumulating in the number one discussed sports show on Youtube on May 28, 2008.
